The last time I posted, I was on my way to a quilting class at John C. Campbell Folk School in Brasstown, NC. The risks were many (as elaborated), and I not only survived the experience, I thrived. And now I have to do some more risking . . .
What am I risking? Seeing myself, identifying myself, expressing myself and HONORING myself with new “definitions.” Up to now, I’ve been a psychic, medium, animal communicator, angel therapist and spiritual coach (my work) and an Administrator, Office Manager, Business Manager, Executive Assistant, etc. (the titles have varied, the work itself hasn’t) as a “day job.” Well, darn it, now I’m even more than that! My experience at John C. Campbell (specifically with the class I took) has taught (or reminded) me that I am also a fiber artist, a quilter, a designer, an entrepreneur, and a creative craftsperson beyond my wildest dreams.
Following the week away, the idea of starting my own business of designing and creating one-of-a-kind vests, jackets, tabards, etc. for women of ALL sizes and shapes has been rekindled and I am currently working up samples to put on a website that I will design and create (the name is reserved: Over-the-Tops.com). I have also requested applications from two (count ‘em, TWO) local craft shows to be considered as a vendor at upcoming events. Okay, how many risks am I up to now?
As you can see, the risks and the excitement of taking them and going in the new direction in which they’re taking me lay before me. I no longer even try to count or identify all the risks I’m taking. Why bother? They’re just risks . . .
And I’m SOOOOOOO grateful I’m willing to take them ! ! ! ! !

Hi Dawna,
So great to hear that you are living out your dreams. Great job. LOL
This is thrilling and inspiring! It’s exactly what I’m working on with singing — identifying myself in a new way! Thanks for sharing!
