Risking exposure

| July 21, 2008 | 2 Comments

Good morning! It is 8:30 am here in Atlanta, GA, USA, and it promises to be a hot and muggy one. Oh, how grateful I am (as are my dogs) for air conditioning! What are you grateful for today…?

Now, on to risking! I have been up an hour and a half sending out e-mails letting people know in several of my networks that I have become recently been awarded the distinction of PCC (Professional Certified Coach) through the International Coach Federation. That’s been fun, and I look forward to hearing back from people words of congratulations.

My risk, however, has been including in those e-mails that I now have this blog AND a new website (www.truevoices.com). And why is that a risk? Well, now more people will be coming to these addresses and I will be even more exposed! The website is especially scary, because it is far from perfect – far from even being finished. But, I know that if I wait for perfection… well, we all know that doesn’t actually exist! So what I am exposing is my true, work-in-progress, imperfect, human (and divine) self.

What are you risking? Are you exposing more of yourself than ever? If not, what can you do to let people know you more deeply?

Hmm. I love that you are exposing your imperfect self, as I too suffer from not getting things into completion and out into the world due to their not being just right. So, I love hearing that from you that you went for it, without it being perfect!

In some ways, I am showing more of myself, risking some exposure – more cleavage – more sass – that’s been fun!

In some ways I could be exposing more of myself to let people know me more deeply and I would benefit and grow. I could ask for help more from friends – risking what feels like infringing on their time.

I could ask some friends for their genuine feedback/opinions about my current dilemmas/challenges.

Those are my thoughts on this fine Tuesday in warm Atlanta.

Please envision lots of rain coming down here. We need it!

    Thank you, Zena

I have seen the strength and courage (and sass) you have embraced this last year, and how beautiful it has been to watch. I look forward to seeing more!
