Seriously. I have been taking so many risks lately that my main risk muscle – my heart – should probably enter one of those muscle mass contests!
So as I sit down to write my post today, I must remind myself that this is about a risk I am intending to take – one that is scary for me, and that I will do anyway – for the learning, the growth, the connection to myself and others, etc.
What will it be? Hm… Uh-oh! I just had a great idea, and then I immediately heard a little voice inside me – one of the not-so-nice ones way down in there. “Oh, no, you don’t. Not that one! You can’t talk about your business on here. It will run people off! That’s not what the subscribers want to hear about! You are about to really step in it…,” it said.
And now, my friends, you are about to be gifted with the very scientific method I use for deciding many of my intentional risks: Do the ones the not-so-nice voices tell me not to do! This means that my risk for today is telling you about what’s up for me in my business, even though a part of me doesn’t want me to, and thinks that if I do, life as we know it will end.
And in honor of Eleanor Roosevelt, who so wisely said, “you must do the thing you cannot do,” I forge ahead!
I am putting together a new group coaching program, that starts in less than two weeks, called “Be You Out Loud: A 12-Month Program of Empowerment and Permission for Women Unleashing Their True Voices.” The marketing, technology, and preparation for the program has been all at once exciting, difficult, challenging, and scary. Yet, I am doing it. And there is more to go, and I will do those things, too. Why? Because as scary as they might be, it is more scary to me not to do them, not to be myself out loud, not to use my True Voice. I don’t know about you, but I’ve tried that, and it’s not for me. My guess is that it’s not for you, either. What do you think?

You’re the “risk-taking-ed-est” one I know. And, you’re successful at it. My hope and prayer is that “Be You Out Loud” will be a roaring success. It’s such an exciting program!
