Risk can certainly have its rewards!

Yesterday, I shared with you that I sometimes put off returning people’s calls, and that I was going to follow-up with 5 people on my prospects list. I also said that, if appropriate, I was going to ask for the business.

Guess what?  As a result, I have two new clients today! And, although one of the five doesn’t turn out to be a good fit, the other two are still very good possibilities – how exciting!!!

And here’s another risk for today.  I am asking for your help.  If any of you out there can tell me how to take that text out of the welcome box and put something else in it, would you please oh please give me a call or shoot me an e-mail?  I would be ever so grateful – thank you in advance!

Now, what about you and your risks? Have you taken one today that you’re willing to share?  Do you want to commit to doing one and then check in about it after you’ve done it?  I’d love to be an accountability partner, if you’ll let me…

Speaking of risks, I’ll be driving down to the farm tonight for a long, relaxing, holiday weekend. I promise to be careful, and trust that whatever you’re doing to celebrate Independence Day, Canada Day or simply the weekend, you will do safely, too. I want to “see” you back here next week!

    Hi Laura,

Congrats on your new clients! (And congratulations to them, as well, for finding a fabulous coach!)

My risk for today is that I’m FINALLY calling an eye doctor… the risk is that I will have to go through the annoying process of making an appointment (in my too-busy calendar), driving somewhere, sitting in a waiting room, getting my eyes dilated (I HATE that!), and… possibly learning that there is no hope for improving my aging vision (boo hoo, pity party…).

The risk I take by NOT doing this is: I will suffer needlessly, constantly annoyed by this inability to see as well as I probably could, “putting up with” a lessened quality of life. So, hmmmm: by doing this, I risk some temporary annoyance and an as-of-yet unknown outcome. By not doing it, I risk enduring a perpetual drain on my enjoyment of life (and an as-of-yet unknown outcome).

Seems like a no-brainer now that I have spelled all that out! I’m calling to make that appointment right now!

Martha – thanks so much for your comments, and for showing us all the benefits of really “working through” the risk in your mind. I look forward to hearing that you made the call, and even the outcome of the appointment, if you are willing to share that, too.
