I must apologize to all of you. I wrote the following post, and thought I had set it correctly to post on the 12th of July. Apparently, I did something incorrectly and it didn’t post. I left shortly after writing this and just got back into town after twelve wonderful days in Colorado, visiting my Mom, my sisters and my extended family there.
Here it is, better late than never.
I admit it. I was at a loss for something to write about this month. I couldn’t think of anything “risky” that I had undertaken in the last month, or that I was contemplating in the next. Maybe it’s just because it’s summertime, and everything around me seems to be more mellow, flowing in that summertime way. Maybe my brain is just on summer vacation.
So, there I was, wondering what on earth I was going to write about when I received an e-mail yesterday. We’ve all gotten them, one of those “you must forward to 8 people in the next hour” e-mails, which promises us good health, lots of friends or financialwindfalls as long as we forward the e-mail. This one was no different, but the first line stayed with me all day, and I would like to share it with you.
“To get something you never had, you have to to do something you never did.”
For me, this line sums up a lot of what we’re doing here. Stepping outside our comfort zones, taking risks, stretching, growing, and sharing those journeys here. Each time I read a post, I learn something from each of you, and I am reminded of how amazingly resilient the human spirit is. So thank you all for sharing your joys and your sorrows, for sharing your journeys.
Have a wonderful summer!
