It was risky but I did it. It may not sound like much, but I went to see Avatar. This is a movie that I have heard about for months. It is getting rave reviews and it is causing such a stir in various conversations. I had severe reservations. Not the least of which was that the 3d version would make me sick. I had also heard what a break through movie this is; stunning in visual effects and utilizing the most recent advancements in technology that it really is a must see. And all I had heard turned out to be true. It is stunning, some of the scenes really do take your breath away and “make your tummy tighten up” as my 11 yr old nephew put so well.
The story is one we have heard before. When will we ever learn that living with nature is the way to be , but also really honks off ANYONE who doesn’t “get it”? All that we ever need is here in the universe that is our home. We share an amazing network with all of nature’s creatures. Those who believe in this truth are always outnumbered and out-gunned, but thankfully, after much sadness, right wins out. So I saw it, enjoy it and will undoubtedly be haunted by the story.
Then of course there is the title song that brings it all together right? ”I see you”. Not unlike namaste for me. I see you, I get you. The center of me, where holiness dwells, connects with the center of you and we are as one. The central notion of living in harmony for me is to treat another as you would like to be treated. But here is where the risk-a-day comes into play.
What if when I see you , I see me? Wow, that is risky. Maybe I present to you the who I want you to see. But what if , when all the pomp and circumstance is let go, we are simply looking at one another as we truly are? Wow: what if? I see you and I see me. I don’t know, but I am gonna give it a try.

i know you wrote this from the side of “trying it” this risking, but knowing you as i do — i see you doing this more than most…and for all this risking, i am grateful
with thanks
you are so right–about the (gulp) diving in to go see that, even WITH your hesitations. and your observations of the messages. but even most of all, about the incredible value of the thought behind “i see you”. and, in return, ‘i see you.’ i love that message and think you’re right–it’s gutsy to really see, to really look, and to really be. Thanks for these good questions–but even more so, thank you for the way you live that out in real life.
I agree with the sisters. I believe you see us as you, and you as us, and it is recognizable, palpable, and greatly appreciated.
